Prewire Phase
Getting 6 New Flatscreen Locations Ready:
We are Installing electrical and network jacks behind 6 Flatscreen locations. Obviously this is a great time to do it because the new homeowner is doing a light remodel.
Wired Network Connections for all of the Flatscreens:
Most homes today have a lot of devices sitting on their network. Most of those are connected wirelessly. It makes sense to get some of the highest bandwidth offenders off of the Wi-Fi and hardwired. Your Smart TVs are a perfect example. These clients are already seeing the strain on their network at their existing home and don’t want those issues here. In addition to installing power behind the flatscreen locations we will be installing a network jack.
A New Media Room
This will be the front wall of a new media room in the lower level. As you can see there are entry ways on both sides. This means having anything on the floor like equipment or speakers isn’t an option. Of course the flatscreen will be wall mounted and out of the way. We’ve decided to install in-wall speakers for the front left, center and right channel speakers that will also allow an obstacle free path between doors.
The subwoofer will be out of the way and out of sight placed in the back corner of the room. Subwoofers love corners! Corner placement provides the most even coverage for a subwoofer in a room eliminating hot and cold spots as much as possible. Not only would the subwoofer be tripped over on the front wall, it would also not have a corner to direct its output.
A Clean Spot for Equipment
This new home happen to have an unused finished closet in the lower level near the new media room so we’ll use it for the network and surround sound equipment.
